April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball stars who have managed to capture medals at many Olympics. In Tokyo in the coming days she will attempt to net her third medal along with first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic Gold. It could be Ross' last opportunity to claim the Olympic gold. Still confident but she is not sure. If we play our best or even if we play well I feel like we can get that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. And then I'll also have some chances. Ross was born on August 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. As well as indoor volleyball, she took part in track and basketball as a pre-professional athlete. She clearly was the top in the game of indoor volleyball. Based on her bio, she was a middle blocker and an outside hitter on the volleyball court during her time in high school. For her efforts she was awarded the 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. She was also awarded the Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are performing their duties from 2017. In reality, Ross had already been a seasoned player in the volleyball world prior to the pairing. Her name has appeared in major events twice, with various partners. One of them is a legend in the world of volleyball. Between 2007 and 2013 she was in a partnership with Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Kessy and Ross were strong on the world circuit, winning an overall world title in 2009. They were awarded a silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. They were beaten out for the gold medal by the legendary duo of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate as Maytreanor resigned. In 2016, the pair received bronze medals in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. In high school and the years before she hit the sand professionally, Ross played for the Trojans at USC while university. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was one of the best. The Trojans were an All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year in the year 2000. In 2000, her Trojans even made it to the Final Four. During her sophomore year she went through a heartbreaking personal loss, yet she managed to be a second All-American. Through her final two years with the Trojans they helped to win two consecutive titles. In her own way, she had established herself as an all-time great by winning in 2003 and 2004 the Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross graduated with a degree in the field of international relations in USC. Sadly, Ross mother Margie didn't get to watch Ross rise to the most elite levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in the year 2001. Ross was still in the midst of being a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and dear. and Margie continues to be an motivation for her at the shore and in her daily her daily life.
